Russ T. Shimizu, MD, attended the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, CO, where he was awarded his medical degree in 1967.  Then, he served his internship at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center. Furthermore, he conducted his neurology residency at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, where he served as Chief resident in 1974. Dr. Shimizu received board certification in Neurology from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He was named Southern California SuperDoctor on multiple occasions as well as Outstanding Neurologist in Southern California by Los Angeles Magazine (2010-2011). Prior to his current endeavors, he has enjoyed a rewarding career in the United States Public Health Service and the United States Coast Guard, where he practiced internal medicine for three years.
